There is going to be an ongoing battle between Leadership (and I don't mean DMG and below - they are meaningless) and the workers. The C-suite is going to push you till you fail or leave. If you feel any obligation to give more than minimum to get a paycheck, you are a fool. They are not willing to pay or reward rock star status, no monument will be built in your honor. Work a little, take advantage of every opportunity to not work, go home, cash your check, enjoy life! Middle management do the same, they have gutted your previous status.

You are so right!!!! You say the company should give options for productivity and then a guy says they do. Then you blame the guy who got options for ruining the company. Genius!
All I'm saying is I don't care anymore and I know a hundred ways to look productive and this leadership team doesn't know how to analyze the first one. I'll be retired before they catch on.

Ok, since this is anonymous and all.... Stock options have been distributed to Hundreds and during exceptional performance years Thousands of HQ and field TM's based on postion, individual contribution etc. "We" are always told to keep this confidential because not everyone is selected.
Target would do well to offer every exempt (maybe even all non exempt) some stock options.
BC and rest of those getting nice stock options could care less about you....do you think they know your name? Are they offering you stock optons to be invested in your work, of course not.

Oh blah, blah..... Target "leadership" is going to do what its can do to show positive results to Wall Street and its investors period. Is this not a business? Target must deliver a meaningful return to investors. This is not a company run by Rockefeller or Carnegie. The Sr. leadership's ownership and income while large by most measures is actually measurably nearly 0% in total and in comparison to the large institutional investors, pension plans (Target Pension plan actually) etc. They are not out to get you or me; they’re just trying to keep the Ship afloat and running well. Do your job, work hard and yes get paid, 401K match etc. for your troubles. There is no battle here, move along Troll.
It means Target is like a buggy whip retailer and not realizing they can't compete...so they squeeze you till ultimately the company is gone and you with it...only they stole everything of value first.
It means you are tired of JK drinking wine while reading BTS responses and laughing in your face as she does so.
It means I'm not giving one more thing to target....I provide the value and until someone recognizes that, I'm coasting. I've got skills.
It means keep killing yourself to get ahead only to be layed off for someone else's incompetence and find you've lost 5 years of your life for no purpose...ecept to enrich C-suite.
It means corporations and top leadership have become evil and only interested in self preservation. You must do the same.
It means the current leadership at Target is failing you and do not give more until they care about you as much as the stock price. You will know that when the day comes.
What does that mean? They are going to set unreasonable deadlines so workers are unsuccessful? Change the dress code every month so workers give up? They are going to remove the 401k match? Or increase the price of benefits? Or the price of coffee perhaps? Be clear and don't set gossip. It is stupid to think that the C suite will engage in a battle with the employees. This leads to erosion and if nobody wants to work for Target, then what's the point?
