QCT is one BU, rest of shit like server, compute(whatever that is), IOE(yeah, sure), aautomotive get to be their own BUs. Sounds like they should have renamed these to BS units

Lay off, re-org. Lay off, re-org. Lay off, spin off or sell. A classic pattern. I might be short one round of lay off, re-org in my prognostication, but it's essentially how these things go when a big company becomes smaller.
BCG crap. Cluless.
the fight to the bottom continues lol
ioe chips will be the cost of rfid tags. fighting over pennies
146208 is right on.. Is again all chip oriented.. Whatever these worthless execs are saying about new business (IoE, blah blah) are again chip oriented. IoE chips have very low margin.. What are these execs thinking?
If this is the vision of our leaders, then no thanks.. I will look elsewhere. All These BS units are chipset oriented. Where do I stuff my chipset SOC and squeeze some money. What we get when we have bunch of HW engineers run the company. No vision on making anything vertical.. No vision on how to control the complete market.
@Anonymous146179, what are they saying? "I want to talk to my thermostat so badly. Totes my best friend!". That's my guess.
Tune in to the chat of the millennials for a moment and you realize that IoT is everything for them. It just has to be always on, dirt cheap or/and preferably free. The millennials will figure it out how to make a fortune out of it, not Q, Intel, Apple or Google :-( There really is a new generation out there changing the world to their liking and a totally new game in town now.
Much easier to close a BU later than layingoff x%. IoE ... what a joke. Even at AH they kept saying IoT. I suggest IoF
BU -> Wholly Owned Subsidiary -> Sell Off or Shut Down
This reorg will ensure that the maximum number of managers are retained. Each BU will have a pyramid of managers similar to what one QCT has now. Every company that has made this move have ended up regretting it. I see now that we have a bunch of MBAs with limited real life experience at work here. On the other hand, MBAs are not trained to maximize profit but to maximize the mgmt bloat.
Veg-O-Matic school of business. Good luck with that!
