Who decides about? Direct Supervisor or Manager?
Managers dont really know all employees well i assume it could be supervisor but not really sure as supervisors themself are on the hook!

The talent management teams put 99% of the effort into the 10% of the workforce uninterested in the effort. Obvious enough at the TMT meetings with 99% of the audience not managed by the TMT.
Which criteria is used for ranking? Ass Kissing? come on... most of the people affected were loyal and good performers ... and some of the dickheads remaining are the supervisors and managers who are firing them...and where are the TMT's?. Some talent they are managing...
Guys, the lists aren't necessarily made yet (as of 4-Sept) but the rankings were done in June. The supervisors were required to rank their people in order from top to bottom. Those lists were discussed with each manager where the supervisors were asked to compare their lists and make adjustments as necessary. In June, we didn't know for sure how deep the cuts would be but we knew who would be first to go, second, etc. The TMT's come into play primarily for the expats and BU's having large cuts where talented people might be affected. That being stated, the number of people to be relocated will be low this round.
I guess we are now down to SIT values, because integrity and responsibility are also gone...
I heard an exec talk about "SIRIT" values in a townhall in response to a question that worded it that way. So funny. People throw around SPIRIT values like it is some kind of real protection against bad things out there. It is about as real as hiding your head under the covers so the monsters don't see you.
SPIRIT values are now the SIRIT values....people be gone
Where are COP SPIRIT values..... Some way to Value People who have given their lives for the company....Can't believe what I am seeing...
Ryan, I f you have some dignity, you and your ELT should step down...
Michael Hatfield, ... It took you six months to conclude that we will become a "Nimble" and "better" company letting some of our best talent go...shame on you and the ELT...
Aw, come on guys. The middle managers don't yet know their fait and have only hints. The supervisors don't know anything more than the staff. You give the management team too much credit for being coordinated here. The decisions for managers are being made at the EVP level, and are only being hinted at to the managers for now. Everyone is clueless aside from the people with real VP's in their titles. Just hang on and we'll know the answers.
The staff ranking hasent even started.
If choices are already made, why would they issue the expression of interest opportunity now?
They are waiting till the begining of Q4 to proceed with the core of layoffs fpr financial purposes. They already wrote off $450 million or so on GOF. Q4 will have the one time item of restructuring. This way, all 4 quarters are a net loss, and start fresh in 2016, compare to previous year et voila..... Ryan is a hero who made a significant year over improvement and turned the losses into profits. Big bonus is deserved then.
Yup we were told the 9 hour ELT meeting was reviewing the lists and making the final approvals. If you're getting laid off your name is already in stone. You could change the world at this point and you'll be laid off.
but if the lists are already made why are they taking so long? in Canada we are not required to be given any WARN notice...
The choices have already been made. Why do you think supervisors and managers have been so scarce lately? This was done awhile ago so they can move quickly when told to proceed.
I am sure they drew up lists of everyone on their teams and ranked them from first to go to last.
From there it is just waiting for the official word of how deep they go... Your team loses 3. Yours none. You lose 2
Managers made the same lists of all the supervisors and so on up the tree
