What to look for on a layoff day

Extra security in the black tahoes first thing in the morning. HR employees suited up in all black. Management acting weird.

Yup, the messengers of death were certainly wearing all black in my building in 2013.

When my friend was let go in 2013, every HR person that went into their office was wearing all black. The only person not wearing black was the manager that helped escort them out. So yeah! Also it's a corporation, you're living in a lie if you think HR doesn't love this drama. They believe so highly in their positions to do what's best for the company.

Also, and this a major thing to look for, the HR squad that shows up in your conference room will be all women. There wasn't one single man out of about 7 that showed up on our final day in November 2013. If you see a gaggle of women in your office, trouble is certainly coming down the pike.

Be wary if HR buys a large amount of boxes.

The extra security? Yes. I know that happens. I've seen security called in for people getting in trouble. Gotta call major BS on HR wearing all black. That has no basis in reality and you are a bad person for even suggesting it. In fact, I hope you lose your job for even suggesting that a department would coordinate outfits due to a day on which corporate restructuring occurs.
