I made sure to schedule all my appointments: eye exam and new glasses, dental work, annual check up, and visits to specialists. Don't forget to use your Chevron Health Rewards too.

That's right, make sure you and your family get their checkups, dental/orthodontic work and surgeries done that they may need before it gets worse and/or you loose your job.

You are eligible for new frames and lenses every 12 months. Don't give that up either.

Can I sell my kidney to pay my mortgage in the house I bought when I was transferred to BFE for Chevron?

Does the dental insurance still cover orthodontia? if I remember correctly, there was an allowance of $1,000 or $1,500 for each covered family member. if any of you or your kids need braces or other orthodontia, this might be a good time to take action.

You are most welcome. We are all Chevron brothers and sisters and should look out for each other's benefit. (I don't hold all of management in the same esteem, so don't pass along this bit of help to them).

Agreed. Go get that medical checkup and go see your dentist. If you are layed off, Chevron is still obligated by Federal law to provide you continued medical benefits for 6 months under COBRA. You will continue paying exactly the same amount as deducted from your paycheck (a monthly premium) and Chevron will need to pony-up the difference. You will still be able to get your dental coverage through COBRA, although the premium will only be a bit more than you pay now. The amount is still affordable. Besides the severance check Chevron will payout to you, be sure to apply for your State's unemployment benefits the day after you are officially terminated. The application for unemployment benefits can be done online. No need to go into the agency office. Search online now for the website. In Texas, search for Texas Wirkforce Commission. You can get acquainted with the rules now. Chevron will also pay you for any unused vacation days, so hold off taking any for the rest of the year. Good luck all.
