GE To Layoff Another 200 Poeple

GE Oil and Gas to lay off another 200 poeple Houston locations. Names have been submitted. Factors that were considered; Age, Salary, Performance. Mostly useless office personnel. Be prepared for the worst, even im on the list. Will go down before the end of September. Best of luck to all of you reading this message.

It's sad how you know your managers are not needed in your department. There's a 8:1 ratio in every service department or more. Why fire or layoff the small man cause their both basically the same. Your end of year numbers are just making our jobs more stressful.

This is true, Corporate has advised top management to cut 25% of their permanent employees. Some departments within Oil & Gas have been told to prepare to cut 30% of their contractor out by mid-October and permanent employees as well.

Doesn't GE and their subsidiaries have a forced 10% layoff each year where they layoff the bottom 10% of performers? I thought this was standard practice for them.
