If your site is experiencing volume declines, other locations make your products, or cheaper than you can, and your production lines are idle more than half the time then your worries may be justified. In Heinz over the past two years we closed several manufacturing locations. I was at a CA site that closed. Unfortunately Bernardo and his Gestapo leadership make growth impossible. Without volume there won't be any profit. Without profit the size of the target on your back gets bigger. It's a vicious cycle. I wish you the best of luck.

There is a "footprint" team whose purpose is to find opportunities to close down manufacturing sites. In sales we see volumes declining. It will idle plant production lines as a result. Poor marketing and bad business decisions over the past year have led to brands declining. Paired with incompetent marketing, most fresh out college, it's been a recipe for disaster. Kraft was a fat, slow, weak target ripe for purchase and pillaging.
