The associates programs are long overdue in every school. Eventually all programs will close.

It was inevitable that closures and consolidating was going to happen. Most of the schools have seen their student population continue to decline since Zenith took over. You can throw the blame on whomever you want, but the truth is the decline in enrollment has been going on for years at all postsecondary education schools. Even four year colleges have seen a large decline in student enrollment over the last 5 years. Many of these campuses would be closing no matter who owned them.

You say Laramie is safe. What about Blairsville WyoTech?

Once again, Laramie and Detroit will survive for political reasons. Houston's Bissonet is strong, with well over 400 students, so their good but will see a few more cuts. Fl is being consolidated, as well as Wa and DFW. Consolidation will consist of campuses combining, rif's and program closures, but also equals survival. Austin and SA your out of luck. Austin has 200 students, with a huge stand alone campus. SA, just a bad area for a school. As far as the 17th, yes decisions were made and, actually plans are being implemented. In some cases, employees were notified already, albeit, without fanfare. So, going forward I wish everyone the best of luck. Key facts: 1st quarter 2016 and student count of 350, those are the keys of survival going forward.

574 what the hell you talking about.......San Antonio barely has 100 students. They're going DOWN!

Only 3 Texas schools will make the initial cut. One in Houston, one in DFW and the Austin school..... barely. After that, they will teach them out if the population doesn't get up to Hawn's satisfaction. If the numbers don't get where he wants them to be, he will say that something like: the closing of the remaining schools Texas schools is necessary to make Zenith stronger and realign the personnel to match the student population. Lol. He will not realize he is out of both students and personnel!! Good luck to all.

485: I am starting to feel like a broken record, stuck on the same message. 30-35 schools may be the plan, but current enrollment trends may make it difficult for any campuses to survive long term, regardless of the "plan". I don't see any experts forecasting a sudden jump in enrollment at Zenith - or any other career school. I don't see Zenith doing anything to buck that trend. Consolidation only eliminates expenses for a few campuses, but does not necessarily increase revenue at others. How many students will drive/take the bus/hitchhike across Dallas or Houston or Denver to attend a different campus? Non-profit organizations still have to pay the bills. At some point, the BOD for ECMC will decide to cut their losses. The only wild card is what the DOE may do to artificially prop up the organization to avoid the huge loan forgiveness fiasco ( and political homicide) that would occur with a sudden closure. Speculation? Yes - but based on objective observation and the application of basic business principles. Disagree with me? Offer a plausible, non-emotional counter-point.

It's a shame that someone plays on the uncertainty of others. One dead giveaway should have been the closing of 9 Texas schools. The last time I checked there were only 8 schools in Texas. The bad news will come to many but it will be late October or sometime in November. A small RIF will take place then and the large one will be in December. Zenith will close, consolidate and teach out schools starting in January. Zenith's fiscal year runs January through December and the scaling down will begin with the new year. Again, the target number for campuses is 30 - 35 which means 10 - 15 are on the chopping block.

Zenith is dying very slowly .... Don't take the band aid off. Just let this monster die slow. More fun this way.

407: I agree with you. There is undoubtedly some bad news on the horizon because Hawn clearly stated that closures and consolidation of campuses was going to happen. It has to. I'm not a Zenith doomsday-er, but come on, if you aren't getting ready for the call to the conference room then you must be retired, working somewhere else too, independently wealthy, or just not capable of dealing with reality. I like what I do and I my first choice is to remain here but someone else in this company is going to make a decision that will not make my choice available. The aggravating part is the utter lack of real leadership that continues to plague this company just as it did CCi. The truth is that the company will not be able to make any real progress toward rebuilding until this very uncomfortable stage is over with. Many have expressed it as "just ripping off the band-aid" and think that is the best advice because the longer this drags on the worse it becomes.

This is really sad, but a reflection on where the majoring of Zenith employees are now. A rumor started about the 17th being some "drop dead date" and this chain gets over 20 replies basically saying "What's happening?" Obviously, most of the employees are nervous about their jobs. And they all have good reason. However, the fact that you may lose you job on a specific day is not the issue. The issue is that you need to prepare now for other employment, not the day after you are layed off.

151- The only people not worried (besides you) are those who don't care or who willingly choose to ignore the obvious. The issue is not that an announcement may or may not happen today. The reality is that negative change is on the way at some point in the not too distant future. Disagree with me? Please provide three solid, substantial facts that demonstrate that the future of the company is brighter now that six months ago. "Typical rumor BS" doesn't count a a solid fact......

Wrong 151:Just because you haven't heard an official announcement, doesn't mean it has not occurred. Most instructors have been informed of program closures this week and additional support staff rif'ed. As for Austin, look at the size of your campus building; for a facility that size, you should have over 500 students. More decisions are being made later today.
