Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Tenets of operation " the Kool-Aid"

My first (okay not really my first) inclination that the Chevron Way and the tenets of operation were not the way the company really believed was the a project alpha email that indicated we "over delivered to our customers". Ummm hello management, that is kind of one of the tenets of operation. My poor wife has had to put up with me through this ROM crap. Looking back through the decades I see a little more clearly what this company really is. Don't get me wrong, capitalism is capitalism. Fine be ruthless in the pursuit of profits, put us in cubes if you want, lay us off if you need to. We all have are big britches on, we can handle it.

Just be honest with "your" people and be done with it already. Quit yanking us around with maybes, possibilities, and the "we are trying to find "opportunities". In other word "alway do the right thing" otherwise you have lost your credibility with your employees.

Oh, how I want to name names.....

In the new Chevron, they should replace the Tenets of Operation with the Nike slogan... "Just Do It". How's that for simple and straight-forward? Maybe then, Chevron will kick ass.

Tenets of Operation... this is the stuff senior management types try to sell to the minions. Truthfully... I like what it says, but sadly it's all "Pie in the Sky". I don't see management embracing it. They only seem to conveniently bring it up when finding a reason to bring us down.
