future of team educators?

What is the future of team educators? Our store is small and our team educators are full time and do most of the work. Are we immune to the restructuring?

Anon 180238, it could be any or all of the above. For instance, in the MA region, they eliminated the individual store Marketing and PBS positions, and have metro positions. If you're a marketing TL or a PBS, it means your job is eliminated; and if you interview and win the metro position, you now do twice the work (or more if the metro positions covers more than two stores) at the same rate of pay (or salary, so perhaps less pay). It's a downsizing and attrition in every way.

Thing is, this downsizing needed to happen about ten years ago. Every store didn't need a marketing team, TL, and a PBS, multiple buyers per team, multiple receivers. We didn't need huge stores a few miles from one another with all these fancy venues and staff and labor to run them if they're not making a profit. But the folks at the very top in management ignored the encroachment of competition until way too late. Now they're panicking, chopping heads without thinking through, and it's too late. The company is failing noisily and it could have been different if the people at the top were real leaders. We can see clearly that they are not, and any company out there hiring leaders and management will laugh in their face once they apply for a management job somewhere else. This may be a small comfort to some, but it's still so sad to me to think that a great company supported by so many good people who have worked their asses off and tried to ring the bell of alarm years ago were snuffed out by poor leadership and gross mismanagement. I hope that the folks working their asses off will be able to find something better out there, and bail before they're forced to go in january. This includes the STLs and people in regional who actually do a great job, as there are lots left who care. They're still bulldozed by the few at the top who don't.

What do you mean by "downsize", 180138? Layoff? Status change from full time to part time? Or reduced pay?
