This week in news at Ex'pression College (or is it Expressions?):
The library is closed, the cafeteria is closing, and the Emeryville campus director resigned. Friday we have our almost weekly sendoff for an integral team member, Karen Stackpole - who created the original Studio Maintenance curriculum at inception. Great good luck to her and Heidi (Former Librarian) in their future endeavors, as well as the rest that have moved on.
Still no real vision from, or collaboration with our distant overlords. I'm dreading whatever kind of personality they hire to implement their cold-hearted (and financially brainless) agenda. Hint to any at corporate that read this: Invest in the future. Right now you're sitting on a few hundred ruined professional relationships (students and staff/faculty), have lost current client (student) faith in the "product", and have not attended to building community. The blow-back from bad press and disgruntled student experience will take years to recover from - but only if you mend your ways.
So, if you want to make money, take the above as some starters for improvement.
If you want to ruin a formerly unique and productive institution - congratulations on meeting your goals!
I think I've stuck around for too long, very sorry for our students!
