..and I don't blame anyone. Whenever we're at work, we're expected to complete extra work left over from the morning crew (not their fault, they're understaffed and depressed too) while finishing night duties, which has doubled because of the sub-team alignment. When I asked leadership why our teams labor budget never increased from the sub-team alignment, they told us to just "figure it out".
A few of my teammates who have been here for YEARS have suddenly stepped down to work one day a week.
I get anxiety every time I go into work knowing that there will be at least one to two call offs that day in my department. Other departments aren't doing any better; I've gotten calls on my day off to come in to work in departments that I'm not even trained in!
This might just be a grocery store but I met some lifelong friends here who started out as part-time and genuinely wanted to move up. Not so much anymore! I don't blame the newer part-timers for not lasting long, the workload is ridiculous and there's no incentive to move up in the company when you know company loyalty stands for nothing.
