People read this board other than COP people. Do you ever consider how this makes you( who are still there) look? I have held stock for over 30 years and I am disguised by the present employee's attitudes.

Please do your work and try not to make the company look any worst than it already does.

All human resources and ethics actions serve to collect information to protect the company from the employee in the event of a lawsuit. The fox is guarding the chicken coup.

Look, do not talk to HR about an issue you have with a supervisor or manager. Their sole function is to gather information about the situation and relay that back to the supervisor. Then they help determine how to discredit the employee who entered the complaint, and use the layoffs to remove these employees. I was one who trusted and brought a complaint to HR about being harassed by my supervisor. HR asked three other female employees if they had the same sexual harassment feeling from this supervisor. I was released (fired) in May. Two of the other three women were fired during the latest layoff round. And only one remains employed, I think, maybe they got her to. Suspicious???? Those are the facts, what do you think? Bottom line, do not talk to HR, get your own legal representation.

The ethics hotline is not a HR function. Talking to HR about issues though should not be an issue. Sad if what is being said is true.

Seriously - COP is its own worst brand enemy. Check out the front page story in today's Chronicle on fighting a judge's legal orders to pay royalties. Ryan Lance would rather spend it on himself and his new planes. And then there is the fact that COP is the U.S. largest methane polluter - which could easily be fixed with minor investment - which instead is still going to the ELT paychecks and their planes. It's only because COP has shrunk to irrelevancy on the global scale that there isn't more bad publicity.

Is holding onto a stock a requirement to maintain employment? I thought you held stock because you could sell it at a higher price and collect dividends. So mr. 30 year stockholder, I think you need to be looking to purchase a few shares of McDonald's.

HR and Ethics collaborate to protect the company and to protect the management. An ethics complaint is an exercise to collect information on the employee to protect the company or the management in the event of a lawsuit. The company devices a response based on "legal guidance" but the employee is obligated to pay a lawyer a $5000 retainer fee and the employee did all the work to collect information to protect the company or the management.

This is the only way to voice a complaint. HR and the ethics hotline are useless. Employees are forced to take whatever is given by their supervisors. I was laid off and now I don't have to work with a supervisor that constantly stares at my boobs whenever I talk. I filed a complaint and my asset manager said "I don't want to hear about this". At least I am walking away with all my stock!
