For those short timers. My spouse was with blue for 32 years and an offshore service supervisor for 20 . He and his counterpart with same years of service got the axe a week ago. They both started from the ground up an have acquired vast experience, education and skills over those years. He has been sick 2 days on all those years. He didnt get a sorry or a thank you. Just a packet of papers to sign. So baker thanks to shoving a knife in his back but on the otherhand thank you for allowing to send our two kids to college and for him to save almost a million in his 401k. Now he can play golf every day of the week if he wants and wont ever have to stay awake for two days or more again when its freezing and wet outside. Good luck with the new generation that will foliow because they wont know their a**hole from a hole in the ground. You really screwed yourselves over. Oh ps. He just got two consulting offers. Naaah. No one cares how much is in his 401k or his years of service, his awards, properties, records, etc. Brag as much as you want, but at the end of the day, he got cut because he was dead weight to the organization. Truth be told, there are 40,000+ people left at BH that have more potential and bring more value than your husband. I will continue to work so my husband can enjoy his time off and be covered under my medical. My poor husband yes as so many that got layed off deserve so much. I am fortunate but we both made many sacrafices and scrimped and saved for almost 33 years. He drives a 14 year old truck and he never asks for anything. So yes he doesnt need a new truck but I want him to have it because I want to. Because I can. Yeah I am a cow I suppose but one who has lived through it all and has a great respect for all those folks at bh that are now having to struggle. Not many of us can look for a new truck with things looking bleak but thanks for mentioning it? Seem you do all the talking for your long suffering husband he's probably a good guy who would be embarrassed to hear your looking for him to be awarded a Medal in appreciation for his dedication to BH so in that sense your posts are about you. Nobody else in looking for appreciation or Medals from BH we all understand they need a service we carry out the service and take their money simple as that. 2 years or 32 years service means nothing to BH or any service company if your surplus they let you go. I see your point but I continue to work and will for some time. I have a. Very good 401 and a good pension when the time comes. He is close to social security. We have no bills. I want him to enjoy every moment. Its his turn to enjoy life.
