Thread regarding Gulfstream Aerospace layoffs

Did anyone else get a list of their coworkers AGES and job titles with their severance letter? Not just laid off workers, but also those kept.

Under the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act (OWBPA) employers with 20 or more employees are required to provide the following to employees that are 40 years or older at the time they are selected for RIF if the separation includes incentive (severance):

"in the case of an exit incentive or other group termination program, contain information regarding: (a) the “job titles and ages of all individuals eligible or selected for the program, and the ages of all individuals in the same job classification or organizational unit who are not eligible or selected for the program;” (b) any eligibility factors for the program; and (c) any time limits applicable to the program."

If you were not 40 or older, you are not covered under the OWBPA.

I'm in Savannah and we have to wait until 12/16 - 12/18 to find out who is being laid off - Have employees at other locations already been laid off? Griefstream settled a lawsuit recently where they were sued successfully for age discrimination during layoffs - Laying off older workers and keeping younger, cheaper, inexperienced employees. You can bet your ass my attorney will be filing suit if that is the case this time.
