SLB New Grads and Self Proclaimed Smart Guys/Gals

This board is an atrocity. Vocabulary and Grammar fitting of the highest caliber Public School Grads and then to Universities dumbed down to accommodate less than acceptable.

SLB was like time warp when I arrived in 1990s. I estimated about 20 years behind previous employer.

I had heard lots of bad experiences over the years but I went to a less than corporate location and at that time relatively untouched by run-away management.

About 2005 or so management caught whiff of us and sent Quako Site Manager. The BS began. He got fired allegedly soon and another came behind him.

Great Chinese Manager to get the established and successful people moving. Boy did we with our high $ stocks and Pensions and Packages. none of those have you recent Grads even heard of.

The folks that made it all happen so the new kids could copy and paste our proven work and put their names on it Left...Bye Bye.

Over run with Foreigners speaking perfect English taught to them by perfect speaking English teachers away in cave or hut.

The whole place became swarming with self proclaimed Smart Guys and Gals.

SLB once was a great company I am sure but I guess about hen I was busy running them out of the park with their outdated designs and poo performing products.

Of course, occasionally they came up with something...but...Really?

Good luck kiddos when you get another job...Maybe just not admit SLB on your Resume' ? Many people for many years will not talk to you. go brag about how smart you are and how much you did for SLB...Boom....Out my Door you go!

The entire We are #1 philosophy is such a joke. Completely breeds complacency and boring...Copy/Paste "Products".

All in all said...I do wish everyone well. Truly I do. We are all people in trying times. Some have been here before and do not back stab people.

Engineering is a small World and before you know it you will be saying yes Sir / Mam to someone like me. I will remember your snotty kid attitude but I am forgiving.

Maybe we have a broom for you to master...Hahaha...Sorry, Not qualified. Sometimes one has to start at the bottom and learn ropes appropriately. Not by back stabbing and kissing arse but sometimes one has to achieve some success. Truly their work and not Copy / Paste!

I could go on...

One last thought:

Knew a guy in nearby office about 2005. he said to me: "Only people that think SLB is good place to work is the people that never worked here."

HE and I are retired with PENSION. Sold our stocks at about $100 mark. 401K substantial after many years of delivery solid Product.

Wonder what the little TROLL Boys and Girls will butcher the English language regarding this post.

God bless us all...Lock and Load for ISIS...ISIL ...Whatever the freaks call themselves today.

Did you write this post in Russian and use Google to translate it into English? Funny how you're complaining about other people butchering the English language and yet here you are sounding like an eight year old with autism.

I had no idea aspiring writers showcased their work on thelayoff.com comments. I'll pass on the good word. Sad that I cared enough as these grammar Nazis to post.

I agree with the OP. If hens are in the park, they should definitely be run out. A park is no place for hens. Parks have a pecking order and hens come last. Of course, hens also have a pecking order and they may not agree.

Why did you randomly capitalize Grammar in the first line? Public School Grads should also be lower case as it is not a name. University used in a sentence should also be lower case unless you are referring to a specific university (University of Toronto vs I went to university). Grammatical mistake in "I estimated about 20 years behind previous employer." 4th paragraph - BS is not a formally recognized word, please refrain from using slang in formal writing. Copy and paste this in Word: Great Chinese Manager to get the established and successful people moving. This is a fragment sentence. In that same paragraph, pension is again unnecessarily capitalized. Again in that same sentence, you had "none" in lower case after a period which should be capitalized. Could you please explain this: put their names on it Left...Bye Bye and what you mean by this? 7th paragraph: Overrun is 1 word, not 2. "Foreigners" again randomly capitalized.

Bro are you ESL? Troll harder next time please

The original poster insisted on proper "Vocabulary and Grammar", I think folks are just pointing out that he should eat his own dog food

I think Spelling should be subjective. Who cares how you spell it as long as people can understand it, it is all good.

"I estimated about 20 years behind previous employer." is a mechanically broken sentence without a proper lead-in.

"Vocabulary and Grammar fitting" - the word grammar should start with lowercase as it represents the whole system and structure of a language
