Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Quiet layoff is in the works

Besides the shedding of the Java Evangelists group and BEA/Weblogic/Fusion Middleware teams, it looks like the BI groups are not backfilling either.

Overtime for consultants is getting cut (from 10hr/week to 6hr/week) as well as forced vacations during Xmas-New Years. Classic method to write down vacation hours and get them off the books.

Customers might be buying cloud but they aren't using it. Many of the cloud products are not that good and need to get better. If you are not working on some aspect of the cloud, your job is in jeopardy.

Having layoffs monthly. Past cutting the fat, into the bone now. Moral is in the toilet. Don't know from day to day if you will have a job at the end of the day. See a big layoff coming after the first of the year. Forced vacations during Christmas has always been a bad sign for long term employment.
