You are assuming that Follett family is unhappy with what is happening. I suspect that as long as their stock dividends checks keep coming, they are happy. Remember this all started with MLS and AO telling us that stock values were down and had to be brought up.

How bad does the business need to get before the company reacts. Maybe when there dividend is reduced or they have to borrow to pay the dividend.
