Complete disorder and confusion at Fossil. Profit falls 45%. Stock crashing!!!
Might there be an opportunity for those who lost their position over the past six months to leverage these unfortunate decisions by what is supposed to be a "Vintage American" company to highlight was is really happening all across the US within the IT space for the past 10 years? The companies argue that there is not enough "talent" to fill their IT needs, but we all know that is not the case and instead it is 100% driven by the bottom line and not the lack of skills and talent. How can our government and leadership in this country not see what is really going on here? The activities at Fossil seem to tell the story very well.
Probably they will bring in more people from Infosys and Cognizant.
Very likely
I've heard there will be More layoffs January

If earnings remain poor, leadership will continue to cut operating costs until the business experiences more exponential growth.
During the recession, Fossil valued its own employees over the bottom-line. Very few employees were laid off and Fossil would go on to experience some of it's best years on Wall Street. Today if you look around the company, very few employees have been there for over ten years. And many who were not laid off have left because the company is no longer what it used to be. Is that company the Fossil that you would like to work for?
But to best answer your question, this is a life lesson that the best job security is to always have a job offer within your back pocket.
