This past Thursday 11-5-15 NOV sugar land terminated some of its employees. It was a sad situation to see long term employees being brought to the I.E. Conference room one by one packages were given out and unemployed was granted but it seems as though in my department only non Hispanics were terminated and that was kind of strange. The supervisor in the department is Hispanic some of the well qualified employees were let go it's strange I tell you it's strange. In another department an employee from another NOV was hired on to replace the long time employees of sugar land, those employees were terminated as well. Favoritism and racism is obviously a big part of the termination process so I suggest if you're not in the loop either do some under the desk duty or start preparing yourself.

1958737, we can not bring the issues to manager and HR because they will terminate you next. NOV should have a class teaching how to kiss ass.
there were cops waiting for you inside the conference room standing over your head with the HR to welcome you by surprise and starring at you as if you are a criminal.
I believe that race & favoritism be an issue. I see this in my location as well, but you can't cry foul because others may not understand. it's real.
Oh please don't turn the layoff into a race issue. If what you say is true then why upper management is 90% white at the Corporate offices and other locations? If you are really concerned, you should bring up your concerns with your manager or HR.
