Anonymous196470. Actually, I had 3 other job offers, two from medical device companies. Broadcom just happens to paid the most and had the best hours. Medical device companies are a pain in the ass to work at for software people, since its extremely process oriented, often times worse than at a defense company. Seems to me my skills are pretty much in demand. And after avago merger, I might not need to work again if the BRCM rsu agreement change of control clause is true. I don't suppose your skills are that current or you could say the same thing, can you? Sorry to disappoint you. I know as a sociopath, you would rather enjoy people suffer financially, probably a reflection of your own predicament. It doesn't seem to be happening. And I am sure it pisses you off. Good. Get use to it.

Anonymous196418. Change and control rsu clause. Broadcom folks will be just fine. Especially how much more their comp.package has been.

Newsflash. The majority of any older employee anywhere with a boatload of company stock would be a tester and vester in as much you would be too. The only difference is you aren't lucky to be in that situation and hence why you are all pissed off about it. The nice thing about age is eventually it catches up, even to you.

....BTW, OP. I was at Qualcomm before I was RIFed last year, and BRCM did hire me. And while the future after Avago is murky, so far, financially I've done better than remain at the Q (though I can't complain about the Q either since the stock options/RSU grants from the past there was fantastic). When I was hired by BRCM, I was managed to get hired at a slighly higher level as a Senior Principal, and my comps started around $170k base. My RSU's at BRCM were granted at low $30/share. I entered the ESPP period at in the mid $20/share with BRCM's 2-year look back period for ESPP. The last ESPP grants (in October, which I sold at $53.50/share) was free money, with an almost $30/share gain. And with the Avago merger, the payout will be at least $54/share cash (or some combination of preferred equity). I have the option of staying in SD or working out of Irvine, and my group will not likely be the one getting axed since it's the networking team that Avago actually wants (unlike the connectivity group). And even if I do get axed, there's an immediate vesting clause in BRCM's RSU stock grant plan, that says upon change of control, any layoffs within 18 months of change of control results in immediate vesting. I've already vested 1 1/4 year, and by close of the merger, it will be another quarter of vesting. Don't get me wrong, I miss Qualcomm and my colleagues there, but the people at BRCM are pretty sharp too, and there's never been that sort of hostility at the employee to employee level. After all, many of them were former Qualcomm people that just moved around from company to company in SD. What I can say though is, people like you will never get hired. By anyone. We generally don't want sociopaths like you. For sociapaths that are hoping/wishing for us to suffer financially, sorry to disappoint you, many of us are doing fine, if not better. I do hope Qualcomm gets there act back together. Competition is good for tech workers when companies are doing well.

I guess you missed the other posts there from actual BRCM people that said "you are a sick fvck if you think this is funny, get mental help"...For example "Admin - please ban this sorry excuse of a person OP.".... Or "Who is this OP? Qualcomm layed off people and provided a good package. Now they need to find a job to continue to support their family and such. Why it is the ex qualcommers fault? OP you are the lowest piece of crap ever."
