Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

At the rate people are leaving voluntarily I wonder who will be remaining to layoff.

Seen several find new jobs over the last month. Ditching their career in O&G for other industries. Won't be anyone left to layoff in our location. Good, means I'll be safe.

yes all the long hours of working traveling and being away from family thats a committed employee but it doesnt matter in the end the process will take longer but they will just hire other people although they wasted a lot of time and money training people who will most likely not return when needed

Good advice. No, I won't go back to slb no matter what. We make good money but we always stressing out and always away from our families. Times like this make u see what was missing in your life.

Slb used to be a good company, now it's turning like a prison. It's my opinion. Making Money isn't my purpose in life. Your bills are paid, ur family is medically covered, u see ur kids every night before they go to bed. That's all what I care about. I got that covered.

Time for another slave to take my position.

Hey 197033, You should give 2 weeks notice, or you will burn a bridge and be on the not hire list. When times are good you might want to come back, no?

The only way I would leave Schlumberger is if they forced me... Even then I would hope they would bring me back. I have BLUE veins from years of sitting on my desk as Schlumberger working long hours... It is a home away from home...

They don't know that I got a new job. I already signed my hiring letter. I will start in my new job beginning of Dec.

Good part is my location doesn't know jack.

I will not give them my two week notice. They approved what I ve left of my vacation for this year.
