Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Beginning of the end.

Conoco Phillips is a failing, floundering company with the lowest employee morale in recent history. They continue to slash the jobs of Hourly employees while bolstering the ranks of Salaried employees. Ever see Office Space? That is a mirror image of the shit that goes on at Conoco Phillips! Especially the "I have 7 bosses qoute by Peter Gibbons"! The bread winners that work in the field dont even give a shit anymore if they show up or not. The only reason they come to work is because they couldnt come up with a valid excuse to stay home. They are expected to work miracles with tired and broken equipment. They are encouraged to hide and cover up environmental issues. They have to make equipment continue to run with paperclips and duct tape because the company is too cheap to purchase replacement parts. Their fleet vehicles are dirty pieces of shit that you have to fight tooth and nail with a third party company just to get new tires! Employees are verbally abused by supervisors, constantly threatened with termination, and have 4 times the workload that they had just three years ago. I would love to see this company become unionized just to shit in their Cheerio's! Two consecutive years without merit increases and the promise of the nullification of their VCIP Bonus program in 2017 are the driving factors to the shit! Morale and work ethic amongst employees is nonexistent. I would not waste my time or money investing in this Communist Corporate whore of a company that buys regulations through Washington DC lobbyist groups and treats its emloyees like shit! Furthermore, this merican company is fun by foreign expats that have no vested interest in the company. They are only doing it to further their career potential on a worldwide scale! If I knew then what I know now about this company I would have pursued a career with a different company that does not lure you in with promises of advancement only to land a dead end job full of deciept and misery!

I've seen Finance professional (Director) sit and look her nails and cell phones all day and get paid for it. This Director still works for the company while good people that brought value to the company were let go of. The ELT is so far from the ground level and doesn't know whose pulling wool over its eyes. Maybe she was hungry once but people like her exist everywhere. They use the layers of management to its advantage to make sure the work of their employees get no visibility while they shine without putting any work in.

It is BS. Anyone that works for the company, knows that the correct spelling it is "ConocoPhillips". It's another another person that thinks unions will solve the problem. I have close relatives in unions,and they are pissed off with the union protecting workers that are useless. I'm in a salaried position and my longevity has been to doing my job (withougt representation) and not expecting a union to protect me. If you need protection from capitalism, go somewhere else.

All wrong doing never goes unnoticed. Never mind the layoffs that is part of this beautiful business, but if they are caught doing something illegal and unethical they usually end up surfacing. Just like everything else in life.

Maybe you do have a dead end job, but you receive a pay check twice a month so stop your bitching and get back to work. Either that or quit, the choice is yours to make.
