Schlumberger HR has been sending out letters to inform those who are not going to be affected by layoffs so that they can relax and focus on their work. I finally got my letter in the mail stating that the economic down turn will not affect my employment status with Schlumberger. I am so grateful for the curtesy Schlumberger is showing us. Now I can focus on achieving my objectives and doing quality work without worrying about the possibility of being laid off. Schlumberger truly cares about us and our families. Thank you Schlumberger for this letter! Did everyone else get one of these letters?

These letters are coming from Nigerian scammers who are trying to get friendly and take your severance money. Be careful
All this is a BS. You with no connections and between G9 and G14 are expendable even if u r a Nobel prise candidate.
There is no such letter. SLB would rather use the postage costs for creating "shareholder value". And the share holders SLB cares about are not employees who participate in DSPP.

Maybe HR posted it to see all the gullible employees and put them on the top of the list... this is bogus, otherwise I would have gotten a letter..
I agree with Schlumberger Legal assistant, there were not any letters sent out. I had multiple people coming to confirm their address with me, the pranks are not funny and are causing a lot of stress to employees. It is unprofessional to cause such havic...

So working with Schlumberger has gotten to this level that letters are issued to employees about their safety. What is the next level when oil prices drops further? May be, HR will call instead of letters. Best wishes for all those who survived..

Yeah, my wife just called me and told me we got that letter in the mail. So if you did not get one then you should confirm with your HR rep that you have the correct address.
