If anyone has spent any amount of time in the oil industry, they know there is corruption, favoritism, racism, and much much more that no one wants to think about, that is the good people. It is the nature of the beast, and even people in HR are have their orders. This is how big business does things, and if anyone thinks it's going to change, think again. That has to start from the top, I don't see that happening. Sorry folks, all you can do is save your money, get educated, and take on a trade as well, because that is the only way I have been able to survive so far, and we all now during these times , no one is safe, not even me. Just my thoughts.

Wait til January???? You high? NOV ain't waiting til January. Layoffs are ongoing in certain increments every week. We don't do massive. We try to stay out of the media by not doing it in massive quantities. You don't hear much about people who've been laid off recently cause those who were laid off recently were instructed to keep it on the down low....we had to point it out, it was on their severance agreement. No one wants to lose their severance money. This is how we do it.
Moscow never sleeps, vodka, girls and plenty of fun for NOV in Russia, no profit at all, but tremendous life.
Layoff,,, ok layoff,,, fu.. and what will happen,, no body died? You can do the same like wellbore management here is doing now in Moscow, couple Russki standard and relax and no need to say more.
What location?
Wait until January and many more will be let go. Like an early new year's present. Straight to the TWC website for unemployment benefits, Medicare, food stamps and the Obama cell phone. All ready for us when they give us the boot.
