Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

If you love what obamacare did to your corporate sponsored healthcare plan...

You are gonna looooove HillaryCare once she wins, thanks to Trump, that will alienate half of the GOP base that is a moderate non-white and/or female that either won't vote or throw away their vote on an independent. I might end up voting for an ibdependent, which would be the first time in 16years....

1wcf: COBRA lasts for up to 18 months--29 months if you have a disability. But you lose it as soon as you take a job with a W-2 and a "qualified health plan."

Do not blame obamacare for the change in the medical coverage you will start getting next year. Obamacare has been around for some time now. I see the change as a cost cutting measure. Blame the executives, the economy or whatever for bringing the company to this state.

Obamacare is great in that if you leave your current company, you can still have insurance. Not that super expensive Cobra insurance that runs out in 1 year, but real insurance like Obamacare that you can keep for the rest of your life.

I don't think Hillary can win. And while Trump may have popular appeal, most of his "base" will probably sit down with a six-pack on election night and watch the returns--hoping that other people vote for "their candidate." That leaves us with 4 potential contenders: Sanders for the Dems, and Cruz, Rubio, and Jeb! for the Republicans. Sanders is too much of an old-line Socialist. You can blame the rich for a lot--and they DON'T pay their "fair share of taxes." But let's face it--deep down we all want to BE rich--so we can afford to avoid taxes, too! So cross Sanders off the list. Cruz is a bit hard-core Xian--which actually turns off a lot of mainstream Republicans. He's good at debate, but he's short substance--i.e., he knows very little about the actual issues he addresses. But the words sound good to the Bush's old Base. But they are only about 23% of the total voting electorate. And don't forget, Trump was the first to wave around a very nice gilt-trimmed Bible, so if McLuhan is right and "The Medium is the Massage," Trump may siphon quite a few of those voters away from Cruz. Rubio is hard core conservative, but not as "preachy" and obnoxiously religious as Crux. He will appeal to older conservatives for that reason. But Rubio has also made it clear he is dead set against ObamaCare, and will probably repeal it. But older people, who are mostly conservatives LIKE ObamaCare in the form of their enhanced Medicare/Medicaid. Just let him try to pry their lardy a$$3$ off of their FREE Hoverrounds! Then there's JEB! Bush3 is by far the most mainstream and reasoned of all of the candidates--on either side of the fence. Unfortunately, to date, he has been the most lackluster w/r/t his performance in debates. And he definitely needs a strategy regarding health care that appeases both sides. He could do that by making a few simple adjustments--like permitting increased co-pays for physician visits, ER and urgent care visits, to help maintain lower deductibles. He could also score major points by taking away the protections and secret pricing strategies used by BigPharma that were negotiated by Joe Lieberman and his wife (who represented BigPharma) and other senators who were bought and paid for by insurance companies, as a condition for voting for the ACA. Even liberals who were in favor of the ACA strenuously objected to this.

votes don't matter. you can just flip a coin in the voting booth. Heads = more war. Tails = more war.
