We all know that there is a layoff going on right now. My question is:
Is there more to come later this year?
Is this the only round of layoff in 2016?

Every year VMware goes through MULTIPLE rounds of RIFs. The only difference this year is that it was publicized - just prior to the earnings report.
Until when can we expect the management inform us if we are laid off ? How do we know if we are safe in this round of lay off ?
Agreed, there will be more rounds. Current economic environment can't sustain our workforce levels now...
This will continue further when the Dell EMC merge will be complete. Right now is the pre integration layoffs on cost front but later it will be based on to avoid duplication of efforts and services . sales , support, sustaining may get hit in my view ..

I'm pretty sure there'll be more rounds. Our downstream team got hit badly, so the next round will hit you know who.
