Why didn't they coordinate all of the layoffs on the same day like they did last summer? Starting in one department has made everyone paranoid! It's not like this isn't already hard enough on everyone.
Now our days look like this: toss and turn in bed at night worrying about the future of our family or our colleague's families; more feelings of dread on the drive into work; look for extra security parked outside; log in and try to focus on work; constantly interrupted by conversations of speculating "when layoffs may come"; try to focus on work again; get several phone calls from spouse asking if everything is ok; back to work; stop and wonder if that unfamiliar person in the hallway is from HR or security; try to focus on work again; breathe a sigh of relief at the end of the day only to REPEAT this nightmare again tomorrow. This is horrible!!!
