Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Came across this Interesting post on Sandridge Energy's page about David Lawler

What do you think if David Lawler would be still with the company, would we have been in better shape? or is he to blame for the shit we are in?

Blame being overzealous and running up 3 billion in debt in a play you didn't understand and not thinking to stop and consider the downside past hedging a year out. We never should have run 20+ rigs in the miss. You can't understand what you're doing at that pace you're just populating the rig lines. It's a guaranteed recipe for disaster. Slow and steady. Low debt. Grow organically. That is what works. Go go go borrow borrow borrow drill baby drill puts you overleveraged and unable to survive the downside. Basic business school 101.

Agreed. With that 20+ rig line with the pace they ran, it was bedlam. Proper evaluation and adjustment next to impossible within our systems, upon green light zeal by upper management.

On the production side, for example, never able to execute artificial lift technology development.

Let's face it, senior management is emperor without clothes. We have very bright people, with so much glare in their eyes, and whirlwind busy addicts, that they lack good common sense OIL BUSINESS acumen.
