I have been awaken from my slumber! I am astounded by that face that some of the technical-professional leaders in Singapore technology are being paid good money to be serious experts in pup joints and adapters. Ye Olde Dave needs to be alerted to this fiasco. I will personally bring them to the grave myself.

Your Founder,

Erle

@FFM0pNa-5ugj:

  1. lets compare # of patents applied / awarded in 2013-2015..

  2. Bunch of the boys in Singapore know nothing of doing non-linear FEAs and CFDs. Let alone setting support for complex simulations

therefore, we cannot call them "Brightest". but we can call them "Cheaper" than US engineers.

calling singapore as HQ for technology is simply a JOKE...

If you think Singapore is the new headquarters for technology then your an idiot. 85% of all engineering is done in Carrollton. The only reason you say that is because the HCT technology director and mfg director are "based" there. That's purely for tax reasons. They set up a "headquarters" there so they can pay less taxes by stating that's the main campus. Carrollton will remain the global headquarters for a good long while. As ol' Dave himself said. Carrollton will Be here to stay, why else would we still be building 10million dollar test buildings here if everything is run out of Singapore. The answer is its not. Singapore is just used for the slave labor wages that they can pay people there.

That is nonsense. Folks in the US have been randomly promoted just cuz they happened to be from the US (the HQ of HCTat that time). Singapore is the new HQ of HCT Technology. So the same thing will happen here guys. Deal with it. We have some of the smartest young engineers here.

It is quite strange (not the lower level promotions but those promotions to PTP & Team Leads) because focal points have been frozen gloablly but somehow these people got promoted to team leads & PTPs? Are they that damn good? Did they invent some new tool or make remarkable management achievements?

Don't just stop there, recall some of the odd, unexplained sudden moves and promotions in management - even transfers going on in houston prior to Jan, 2015. Just sayin'

everyone has a point in their careers/life where they have to learn things they aren't familiar with. So kindly show some respect. if someone would like to address any issues, It will be the middle management and team leads that are taking double/triple promotions when the rest of us are stagnant. Those are the people with little to nil technical skills.

Bunch of drafters and college student performing calculation on tolerance stackup with stress analysis on tubulars... Not technology at all..

These kids dont even know how to run non-linear FEA properly. And their support on manufacturing floor is none...

They couldnt even write proper test procedure let alone designing a simple fixture

Bunch of Idiots there in Singapore

Complete joke. HCT that is. Where is the technology requirement in manufacturing dumb iron??

Overpaid undereducated drain on the technology budget.

Define rapid? They received promotion a little faster than you did? Sour grapes. If in this economy, people still get promoted, it means they deserve it.

You can always relocate to Singapore and try to get a promotion there, no one's stopping you.

Rapid? You guys only see what you want to.

Do you know that the average time to get from ATP to TP in Carrollton is 2 years while it's 3-4 years in Singapore? Plenty of these guys in Singapore have 3.5 years of experience but did not get their promotion until now. The attrition rate in 2015 was appalling due to this. It got so bad that the VP of technology was alerted of this.

Of course, there are some unworthy ones that were promoted, a few even to become team leads.

But please refrain from generalizing. Some of these people deserved their promotions. And some did not.

Well they can pay them slave wages so no wonder all our work is going over there. Too bad their costing is a sham so in reality they aren't any cheaper.
