The whole point of the all hands was to ruin morale and get people to leave on their own quickly. Brilliant, diabolical move.

Just curious. Was upper middle management offered early retirement or simply dismissed?
I heard about a former BRCM engineer who got laid off a few years ago and moved to Bay Area to join Avago. His workload is very high compared with BRCM one. Once the project schedule is set, he has even no weekends and no nights to meet the schedule. That is the way Avago can survive and do well. So you guys need to be prepared to make your new big boss TAN happy somehow.
Good for you, I think engineers are now understand what you are saying.
After, what he has done to previous companies and seeing what is happening to their own company
I left before the merger. I really didn't want to go. I really like my team and my management chain all the way up to the VP level. The problem is that once it was announced Avago was going to buy us, I couldn't bring myself to continue to working for the company. I probably left a lot of money on the table. But I can't work for a CEO that doesn't give a rats ass about innovation and engineering. I'm not starving for money, and am not someone that desperately needed a paycheck, so I went to a smaller/riskier company.
Everyone's going to have to decide for themselves what is important. Money or work/personal satisfaction
