I wouldn't have expected one in the first place, but after all the execs walk around giving speeches about how the bonus is funded this year and at over 100% (personally heard Doug say this) I'm pretty sure cancelling it kills any culture of values they tried to create. Expect more layoffs. And those poor idiots who were on the sap project, good luck. At least you learned some transferrable skills outside the oil industry. Remind me to never volunteer for that crap. (oh wait, I didn't and still got paid the same as those fools). Hope you get some kind of T-shirt. Good luck to all.

What evidence is there that bonuses are cancelled? Part of your employment compensation at the company is a bonus. Some companies just pay all salary. Other companies pay part of your compensation in bonuses that are tied to performance. Not paying a bonus literally does nothing to help save the company. The leadership team is excellent and they are doing everything they can to keep driving out waste to create a top tier company.
The bonus is based on predefined metrics. The purpose of which was to do add transparency and fairness. kudos to mgmt for honoring the clearly defined bonus calculations. That said I would look for a different bonus formula to be rolled out this year. One more bright spot is that stock is so beat down, we might have a shot at the kicker this yr.
You know what? You f---ers deserve to get fired. bonuses? SMH
If a decision was made to offer an incentive for a job well done and an employee met their goal, then the employer should meet their obligations. This is a personal business decision between two parties.
Not just the executives at those car plants get those bonuses. Heard General Motors employees getting 11 k bonuses. G. M. Never paid us tax payers back, but get their big bonuses. That's why a crappy car cost 25k. No one trashes automakers who make big bucks, but hate us in the energy sector.
It's kinda like the executives of the car companies getting bonuses after the government bailed them out. Is it fair? No. But when you tell employees the metrics of how to obtain bonuses and then say sorry, thanks for the extra effort but no bonus for you. It's crappy. Regardless of a failing company. Don't think for a second the executives aren't getting one. Funny thing. I'm a socialist, but this capitalism thing is fun. Don't you agree Repubs?
Look man,,, F--- a bonus, be happy you are still punching a clock.
Point of the post was not really about the bonus. It is the fact upper management is so clueless to the conditions every employee can see. Then they spout this nonsense in meetings. We all get the conditions, we're all waiting to be cut, so don't rub salt in the wounds of those without golden parachutes. (And I'm sure you will read the 8k about how much the exec bonus was for last year, sure they still got it. Why do they deserve it?)
The entitlement factor is amazing at CHK. No wonder the hate.
Do the best they can, or get the most they can?
Why the fk does this guy care whether a company he doesn't work at pays out a bonus or not??? I don't expect one, and will be happy if I'm able to stay gainfully employed.
Employees have worked hard for their bonuses and salaries to keep this company driving forward providing the best return. Please don't harass and belittle ones who are trying to do the best they can.
Bonus??? WTF? You spoiled brats are going to be lucky if you still have a job by the end of the year.
Again,,,Why the fk are you guys still talking bonuses. Do you guys not understand whats going on?? This is pick up and fold up time. This could be the end of your company! You are still talking bonuses and CHK has a ton of Debt and a ton of lawsuits. IT KILLS ME HOW PRIVILEDGED YOU EMPLOYESS THINK YOU ARE. Its posts like these that make me root against you guys...
It would be another monumental blunder by management if they pull the rug out from under everyone at CHK after telling everyone about the fully funded bonus pool. Talk about murdering the motivation of the workforce in cold blood. I would not have expected a bonus but if your senior management was talking it up beforehand.....ouch.
