My two cents here - Some SWE management needs to learn to separate personal and business views of personnel, taking a course in personal and professional integrity would benefit them. Be a man/woman of your word. There is one manager over regulatory who told one manager they had a position open and would be willing to discuss the position with an employee, but when the employee called and emailed her, she never responded. No inkling of what integrity is at all. Even if she didn't want to give that employee the position, the least she could have done was email that employee and say so. But she just totally ignored that employee.

Please it's not SWE, it's SWN.
So true - there is a ton of nepotism here as well.
