They have destroyed Sam's vision and deserve to fail. Greedy Walton family is a large reason manufacting left the USA for communist China.

Continued under staffing leaves work that can't be done and frustrated customers when they can't find help. One person working 3 departments alone & reporting to 3 managers is ridiculous. The worker becomes overwhelmed and frustrated, which spills over into their attitude. That's why shelves are empty. The common complaint from customers is lack of service. Turn over rate is around 80%. So money is wasted training new people who will never build the experience that benefit the store or the company. It's the one area always sacrificed to turn a quick fix on the profit margin instead of fixing the underlying problem itself. Until that's done, the demise becomes inevitable. However, invest in employee retention and things could get turned around, providing patience is exercised. Quit pandering to quick profits.

Walmart has forgotten that they need customers to make that profit. Too many businesses see only profit, profit, profit. They're forgetting they need customer goodwill and satisfaction, and customer loyalty. By not recognizing that fact, many companies are going under. Take a look at Circuit City. They forgot everything but profit. Best Buy is following the same path.

I don't go to Walmart unless I absolutely have to. It's the only place I've been able to find unsalted Kerrygold butter for some of the recipes I make. That's the only thing I buy there. And Walmart is now closing a lot of stores? Gee, guess the customers they ignored went somewhere they felt valued.
