Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

In scope and ROM reps

This will probably be announced next week, but here's a hint to people who want to get a head start.

You can figure out all the in-scope people by looking at the memberships in the address book right now. You can also find out who the ROM reps are. Here's your chance to assess your chances for a place in the new organization and position yourself with your ROM reps before the mad rush.

For a returning expat who is in scope who is eligible to apply for other positions ...... If the expat applies and is not chosen then ..... they considered laid off.

are they offered any type of severance at that point?

@G2CaHT0-2wha Would you please post the employee list to a paste bin with emails removed? I was able to download the rom rep list, but still can not expand or access the employee list. It definitely would help those of us whose positions are being removed in a BU and need to move out.

Thanks OP. It worked over he weekend but it's now hidden in Outlook. However there are other ways to see the list...I'm afraid if I type it, the alternate methods will get blocked.

194 ROM reps to manage 5242 employees in scope for what, 3000 jobs?

The point was returning expats have to be relocated no matter what, so they are going to have more flexibility in posting for jobs in multiple locations. People already in the US are only going to be able to post for positions at their current location because the company won't pay for relocation.

So returning expats will try to be relocated? Or not. One comment says they will be relocated and another comment says no they will not be. I think at this point no one really knows how it will all really be until it happens. 😓

Absolutely, Chevron monitors and edits this site, sometimes in ways that are not nearly so obvious. I've gone back through old inflammatory threads from months ago that I responded to and discovered that that my (and other's) positive responses to the OPs were deleted, leaving only the corporate cheerleaders' comments. Of course, it certainly wouldn't be the first time that CVX managers wrote their own version of the truth, now would it?

@2acn, you bet Chevron monitors this site. I've commented several times on this site, but only once did I start a thread. That topic was so inflammatory and exposed a nerve that it was pulled off this site within 10 minutes. There was nothing derogatory or curse words used, only a truth the company or HR did not want to have out there. You've noticed how this site has undergone a few changes and tweaks since it started about a year ago. Now each comment is followed by a link denoting a prefix (thread) a dash, then a unique identifier. This makes it easier for a company or person to notify the moderator or admin of the offending comment.

The only people who will have relocation are the returning expats. The company has no choice but to relocate them. That certainly gives them a wider choice of positions.

Way to ruin it. The group was deleted this morning

There will be no relocation. Kinda defeats the purpose of cost cutting. I think everyone gets that.....Oh wait, this is Chevron, very few people get that!

What does the group membership start with. I have 50 in mine and I was unable to determine which one to look at

Hate to break it to evryone but incumbents are in then pocket as are people already in a give BU. Mgmt is going to try to avoid relocation spend at all costs. The fix is in kids. The majority of slots are already penciled in.
