Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

So what do you guys think of the FBI Order under the All Writs Act?

It would force Apple todevise an ecryption program that currently does not exist for their customer-generated passcodes. It would force Apple to do this using Apple's resources, and at Apple's expense. It could not only damage one of Apple's key marketing positions, but potentially eviscerate their IP/trade secret technology. Finally, when coupled with CISA that was passed in December because it was burried in the Omnibus Budget Act of 2015, this opens the way for every federal intelligence and law enforcement agency, as well as local law enforcement, to request the same thing--from any private tech company.

They already have the tool. You just have to be the owner of the phone. Cook is an add.

None of the data that is valuable is encrypted or locked. Apple isn't a good company, the letter from Cook is just a marketing ploy.

I never cared for Apple or its products. But I'm with them on this fight.
