Thread regarding SAE Institute (formerly the School of Audio Engineering) layoffs

What's happening at Ex'pression these days?

I heard rumors that there's a new campus director and that his big plans are to close the south building, reconfigure the north building, and start two separate course tracks - one day, one night, so students can hold down a job. Both sound like good ideas to manage with the financial problems, but the implementation will likely be very disruptive to a staff and faculty that have already been upended.

What else is going on? Just curious.

Well some of that did end up happening unfortunately. They closed the South building in mid-2016 (which I think was a big mistake,I preferred that building much more), got rid of the cafe in the north building and turned it into the administration offices and moved the library into it. The colorful walls were also all repainted grey, white and black and new classrooms were built but with no windows or AC. The school is an extremely depressing shell of its former self.

I heard that there are a lot of ideas like that going around, but it will be more costly to operate. You'd have to spend more on staff resources.
