Thread regarding NOW Inc. layoffs

Respect (but more pain to come)

My respect for DNOW leadership is going up. Times are tough all around and we are losing money. People are losing their jobs however leadership seems to not be panicking and doing their best to guide us through the challenge.

On the investors conference call yesterday they mentioned that they believe there are probably still more cost reductions (I read job losses) coming however I also found their words a little comforting. This is actually the first time since the spin off where I really felt they were in control and had a plan.

I think there has been good out of the spinoff. Perhaps the timing was bad but DNOW started with a great balance sheet and has been able to make some acquisitions.

There has been nothing good about the spin off and especially not the purchase of Wilson! There was a reason Smith no longer wanted to mess with Wilson, all of the upper management ran it into the ground, which is exactly what they are doing to DNOW. How they let the legacy Wilson people in as deep as they did is a mystery to me.
