Ignore comments by "X" he/she has no idea what they are talking about. Whether it would be a 7 or 11 is immaterial. It makes no sense to let people go today, with packages. IF we're filing in three weeks, that's when all the layoffs would happen. Why pay out severance today if a bankruptcy filing is imminent? Severance is not required by law after a filing is made. That person knows nothing.
When and why is there no media coverage of this? That would impact the area and I would think would have to be disclosed to the public. Is it just home office for the lay offs? Or field and store management also?
Layoffs are in effect lots of them.
I haven't heard of anything happening. Although the company has lost money people seem to be in a better mood. Stop spreading rumors
You will see what happens Thursday, layoffs will happen. March 16 will be chapter 7 not 11. Are you an employee?
It would make no sense to layoff 500 people tomorrow if we were planning to file next month. Think about it.
Tax breaks won't be necessary when they file BK on March 16
Internal info..this is at headquarters and will be announced tomorrow
The cut will be employees at HQ
Illinois legislation requires the retailer to retain 4,250 jobs at its HQ or they won't get the $150 million in tax breaks
District managers going?
How do you know this, and where will the layoffs be?
