My manager told us that company policy is changing in Q2. WFH will no longer be allowed and count against your vacation time.
Seems BCG figured no one actually works on WFH.

7yen: Are you being purposely obtuse or are you an H1B? Qualcomm has essentially been conned into adopting a "zero tolerance" policy toward WFH. This is a stupid idea. Everyplace else these types of policies have been implemented, the adverse effects have outweighed any benefits. It's why you have kids being arrested for chewing their Pop-tarts into the shape of a gun and pointing them at someone, or sending other kids emojis on their cell phones. No, I am NOT kidding.
4bpi: It's the law. Disabled people have better PACs than "wage slaves" like you. Deal.
So what's the news on this? Has anybody actually seen PTO balance go down?
Get back to work you lazy a*s wh0res. You're not being paid to jack off and kickback at home. WFH is the biggest scam plaguing this company. And yeah you're gonna keep sending your status so stop whining and get back to work!!!!
4bpi: WFH = doing actual work; not rest 'n' vest. If the concept still eludes you, apparently you are not motivated enough to be trusted to work without some status reporter checking up on you at least once every hour. But some people actually are motivated enough to work from their home offices.
rest n vesters paper wealth go bye bye. Flipping bits since 1997 but all you get is lousy Carmel valley mcmansion
What have you been smoking dude? Let's say I'm waiting for a package at home. How the fvck can there be a federal law to guarantee me WFH rights for this? This country doesn't even have a minimum PTO requirement at the federal level.
Yeah QCOM is up lately but sober up pal. And enjoy the final days of WFH lol
NOTE: last post in 4shz should read "send a copy by certified mail USPS," not "send a certified copy...." 2 different things. Need more coffee....
@1bng: Assuming your pose is not bullsh*t, do this: Request working remotely as an accommodation under section 504 of the ADA. There is now settled law that a policy that discriminates against someone due to their association with a disabled person is covered under the Act, albeit the limits of the law in all jurisdictions are not yet known. Qualcomm's legal tends to be conservative about risking such things. Direct your inquiry to Qualcomm's section 504 compliance officer. Even if you access the portal for the compliance office by email or online, it's best follow up by sending a certified copy of your request via USPS w/ a return receipt, so you can present copies to a court, if necessary. Also request a reply in writing, and send a self-addressed stamped envelope. Qualcomm stamps just about all of their internal documents sent via email as "CONFIDENTIAL," which can pose a problem if you are later submitting documentary evidence to a court or administrative agency. If Qualcomm tells you they don't have a compliance officer, and direct you to HR, or if they tell you "NO," see if you can get that response in writing. Your next step would be to direct copies of your first request and the response to Qualcomm's legal, and also be sure to explain any "recent misadventures" with HR. Let me know how it goes before you do this, and I will give you a name to send it to. I don't think you will need it if you follow this procedure, though.

I think there are a lot of "WFH" abusers. I see people who come to the office maybe once or twice per week. There are legitimate reasons to WFH. It's unfortunate that everyone will now suffer.
Good, that means no more meetings at 10:00 PM from home
Wank From Hone is over people do that nasty stuff on your own time.
Have you guys HFW? Brave new world
I think wfh is a joke....
