Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Has Halliburton Had Any Buyers, or Even Offers For the PSLs That Are Required To Be Sold, As Part Of The Merger?

You would think that Ol' Dave would be happily exclaiming how the would be purchasers are falling all over themselves, and willing to pay premium prices for the opportunity to purchase Halliburton cast offs.

IF the merger doesn't go through, and I hope to fk that it falls flat on its face, thus forcing Ol' Dave to explain how his "strategic vision' failed him, watch and see how Ol' Dave tells the employees of these PSL's how they are part of a key asset, and as highly valued "assets", they will have a bright and vibrant future under the Halliburton umbrella of leadership.

Kelly down mofo,

Just did a Google search,,,and New York Post says HAL corporate are doing a 'Hail Mary' to get the merger done. I' m no executive, but that sounds like desperation. I hope someone gets a video with security escorting you with your red folder.

north belt will probably be the only major location in Houston after they pay the 3.5b....

They might have the Intelligent Completions site still, but most likely, that PSL will be moving to Carrolton.

Pennicle 1 & 2 and Boot & Koots will be consolidated to one location over ther off Aldine Bender road. There are a lot more layoffs coming to the Houston area still, this is not over folks so just be ready and prepare yourselves, and good luck......

Buyers??? But seriously if I was to buy any of that Sperry sh-- I would make them prove it actually worked. Also I would need to know the potential impact that obsolescence would have on what I was buying. In other words, why buy it just to have to completely redesign or throw away.

Once the deal failed, GE comes in to buy Baker.

Haha. Dave will not be the one saying that. He will be replaced. The board isn't dumb. They know there could possibly be a revolt. My guess is that after the annual board meaning in May, DAve's days will be numbered. Shareholders ptride has taken too much of a hit. Either Ol' Dave gets the boot (the deal falls through) or he saves his job (gets the DOJ/EU to have a change of heart). If I was at that meeting in May, I would say (as a major shareholder "Dave what the f'bomb is going on"?). My guess is that GE were interested, but seeing how the market has TANKED. they now see an opportunity to pick up a full company, rather then scraps of a table.

Hal are going to have to throw bucket loads of cash at Sperry R&D if the merger dies. Chronically under-funded compared to completions and wireline.

Hal unfortunately doesn't understand the drilling and evaluation business as well as SLB. Clients still ultimately view Hal as a low tech "pumping company". This view is unfortunately only reinforced when they talk to Hal management and C&PM.

Ever wonder why SLB does so well in international markets? It's because they are a D&E focused tech company. They aren't run by pumping hands and accountants.
