Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Waynoka

With all the changes that are happening in the waynoka office, new managment, wells going to woodward and all the Wells that are being shut in do to OCC and economic. It has killed the morale of the employees. When an employee is worried about losing there job for any little reason and/or do to the price of oil and then being told your lucky to still be working, it lowers the productivity of the employees. They keep saying we need to save more money to keep the doors open. That's kind of hard to do when the field employees are doing everything they can do and then managment goes and spends the money. Non of the managment is on the same page on what's going on, most of the employees are just trying to hold on or actively looking for other employment. This is not how a billion dollar business needs to be ran. They say the employees are the biggest asset they have and treat them like there all replaceable. The field employees are what make this company and ALL THE MANAGMENT ARE DESTROYING the company.

Everyone is replaceable. No one person is needed to operate a company. Go cry to your mother. Grow up.

Sounds like you still have a job... I wouldn't be complaining about it. Your company is on life support and you're lucky anyone there still has a job. If the employees are looking for other job opportunities, then they are smart in doing so. This market isn't turning anytime soon, and will likely get worse for those in the Miss. Lime area. I know you want to feel the love, and have someone tell you how valuable you are to the company. There are 1,000's of industry employees being laid off, and will be sending their resume to anyone willing to hire them. I'd keep my head down if I were you, and come to work every day with a better attitude than you had the day before. Company morale is low on the priority list these days... Wish you the best, but time for a reality check.
