Hello All - I am researching message boards relating to Exxon layoffs due to the recent O&G downturn.
The information is scarce. Would someone be able to help me out by replying with a list of major geographic locations that are affected (a major metro location is fine as well - e.g., Houston).
In full disclosure, I will post this message to BP's and Shell's boards as well.
WE can do without the contractors in Calgary and those at Site!!! Some of them are useless...others just "running around with papers" pretending they are busy!!!...From Admins to Engineering!!!
Haven't heard of planned mass layoffs. It seems to be mainly just contractors being let go which doesn't really count as company layoffs. As usual lower performing employees are at risk, like bottom 10 percent, but you have to be pretty bad to be in that category anyway. Also, some older employees close to retirement are going ahead with retirement. The latter is how alot of them are leaving. Can't feel too bad for someone who "gets" to retire, as that is a luxury not everyone has.
