Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Corporate at Aldine Facility

Corporate "Big Wigs" to arrive at Aldine Facility to discuss possible closure by the end of May. Finally shutting down the doors at Original Gill Services,Inc. Gill family made a big mistake to sell off to NOV.

Many great people gone due to the greed of a single individual.

I see these posts on here all the time . . ."oh we had it so good before NOV. NOV is ruining this business. We'd be great if not for (insert corporate person here)." Here's some truth for you: NOV bought you because financially they could. If your business was a powerhouse profiting machine you wouldn't have sold it to NOV. NOV didn't cause the price of oil to drop below 40 or even 30 and in turn make your products obsolete in this market. If there are no customers, there are no sales orders, and no sales orders mean no need to keep shops open. Gill Services and many of the other people complaining on here have products that are not used today. The rigs that use this equipment are not being contracted. The world is not inside of your Aldine facility. The same people you are proclaiming as the greatest on earth may be very nice people and treat you very well but they are the same people who kept everything the same and didn't change and therefore made your products extinct.

At one time NOV was a company that thought highly of its employees. Today however, with its new management, it has lost any concern for the people that earn a living through their jobs. If its easier to get rid of people to keep their bonuses, well, goodby.
