Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CVX is monitoring this board

Chevron has hired HR staff to monitor this board and spread propaganda. That's right, they've hired folks to monitor a layoff informational website while they continue to layoff workers. The Chevron Way®

Most of our asinine management don't yet realize that they will eventually fall to the axe. Right now they see themselves bulldozing the bottom rung of the Chevron pyrimid. They will soon wake up when they see the next upper rung getting decimated. The process will continue until all rungs (except the peak) also get their trimming. Remember this, all you management types, your day of reckoning is near.

No one promised life would be fair. And it isn't. Those of us laid off are being called dead wood while my former supervisor works about 20 hours a week, earning a huge paycheck and stock options.

But when you are in SEVERAL protected groups, I guess you are safe.

@-1cjn - Right on. they are all over the company now, the butthurt losers, deadwood and beavis and buttheads. They run the company. That's why the stock is struggling. But watch what you post. The PC police go around and cry like butthurt losers themselves if they don't like what you post. Must be HR monitoring the site like people say.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the butt hurt deadwood loses are still here. The ratio has actually gone up as well as middle mgt to employee. Bottom line goes down incompetence goes up.

@-1xno, You poor baby! Did someone call you a bad word? Do you think that when another poster refers to getting rid of the dead weight, that means you? You have a guilty conscience. Now why could that be? I wouldn't want to be you. Did you get all of your things packed, sweetie? I hope so!

@GMdlFWw-1jkw: As long as sick a--holes like you are still in Chevron, there is no hope for this company. Don't fool yourself. You're far from being considered "quality personnel". Go fix your psychological issues.

Yes, good thing the stockholders monitor this site. They can confirm that only the butthurt deadwood losers who will be cut are on here and are better off gone. That the quality personnel will remain. This site is assuring to them. They can get a flavor of the misfits that will be left behind as the ship sails without the extra weight.

qqf -The stockholder activists monitor this site as well, and short sell CVX. There is valuable information on this blog. The Squawk Box and Jim Cramer don't dig up this kind of data.

If the LNG commissioning team is running the next ESP, then I predict it will be 6 months late and they will screw it up so bad that they end up hiring more people during the process.

Rumor has it that, to save cost, 2H ESP will be organized and run by the LNG commissioning team. Best of luck to all.

Everyone should read this site. It is the only source of raw, unfiltered office truth I have found. You wont get it from a townhall, you won't get it from HR, and you damn sure won't get it from the leaders. When you have epic failures, one after another, make investment decisions that destroy a once great company, sell the assets that got you where you were for pennies, and tell everyone that things are as right as rain.....you should be called out about it. Who in the F spends hundreds of billions, has jack $hit in production revenue to show for it, and still has a job?

I can assure you that HR can parrot back the Chevron policies, but guarantee it's a crap shoot if they understand the policies and cite examples to help answer your questions. So many times they have told me they would have to get back to me later. When they finally get back to me, they repeat the written policy and leave me chasing the answer elsewhere. I think it's done by design. It's so frustrating, I'm going to start recording the phone calls and follow-ups I have with HR and posting them on YouTube.

HR is way more competent then our IT department. They suck worse than a $5 vacuum cleaner. I can attest that HR can parrot back the Chevron policies so at least they can read and write.

Hiring people to monitor this board? Well shyt, where can I sign up for that job. Was it posted?

Who cares if they monitor this site? The reason this particular board is so active is because the employees, or ex- employees know how crazy it is to work there. It is more important to be PC and follow procedure than it is to get real work done. If you were to tell people about your experience at Chevron, things you did and saw, they would think you are making it all up.

You may be giving HR too much credit regarding monitoring this site. Based on their past performance, I suspect most cannot even read, much less construct a complete sentence.

Prior to getting laid off, several of us on the same floor monitored this forum daily. It is no surprise that HR would find it, also. When you Google "Chevron layoffs" this site pops up near the top of the search. I found it by accident, while looking for news articles on the subject.

That's what the original poster meant by "propaganda."

I'm not surprised that Chevron HR does monitor this site, but I've often thought Chevron could be spreading disinformation and troll-like comments to try to detract serious posts and readers. I have no proof of this, but it could be a tactic to disrupt any credibility this site could muster. I would urge everyone to consider this and post serious commentary only.

Sure they do. They don't want certain information and testimony broadcasted to the public... especially from those precious legal hold CAIs.

Please give your proof of this. I have no doubt that they monitor, because it would be stupid not to, but to accuse them of spreading "Propaganda" is a little bit out there.
