Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

There is hope people...dust yourselves up and move on

Who says that life stops after leaving an employer? You may twist this situation into an opportunity to do better things and reinvent yourself, at any age. If you did not see it coming (and this goes to the ones that stayed) and did not work on your plan B there it is 100% on you. This is a business decision, and goes both ways. Believe me when I tell you that there is a ton of work outside, meaningful jobs that will develop you way faster and more effectively...less BBS and more real life experiences that you can continue to grow and transfer anywhere. Good luck and dust off so you can move on.

If you dipshits would wake up and form a national union you could take this stupid company by the balls. But let me guess, you're going to say unions bad; corporate execs getting $80MM in stock options good. No problem if that's how you feel, just don't bitch whine and moan about getting let go.

F---ers.

Best advice I've received

See if your state pays for you to go to school for a new profession. Many states do for up to 24 months, and at the end of the day they get Chevron to pay for it.
