Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Oh, cheer up you laid-off whiners

After all, look at dear leader Watson soldiering-on after taking a 15% pay-cut last year. While driving the company into the ground, making bad decisions, laying -off thousands, ruining careers and lives, he only took home $22MM. This year he might take another pay-cut. Poor guy. Maybe only make $20MM.....and you thought losing your job was bad......

You think Watson is questionable.

Try working in the ABU where the MD has resided over 9 years of over budget, over time, under performing construction programs and let the BU grow way above its needs at the same time to then cut cut cut with no process, no data, no consistency and no idea.

The fact the MD is still with Chevron is a sad indictment on Chevron's hierarchy. No accountability for poor performance.

Seriously, I'd laugh if it wasn't ridiculous. Our hard earned shares being pissed down the drain with no visible consequences while the workforce cops a battering.

20 billion & 2 years later he's still in his job?

He was busy playing gold during the last layoff.

It is original. In the fact that 90 percent of Chevronites could not point out a fluid end on a frac pump and yet 25% of production will come from unconventionals. I am sure your hardwood and do not know this........

Problem is there aren't any people with oilfield experience who have actually worked in the oilfield who are running the company, only bean counters.

I'm sure he feels bad about all the layoffs and stuff. But at least he ensured that, by letting you go, his thousands of shares of CVX stock would go up in price. That perhaps brings him some solace...

Oh yes! I'm merry cherry. So happy I was laid off on Thursday, on my 65th birthday and with 36 years of service. It couldn't have been more perfect to be laid off in the year I had planned years ago to retire. I'm 65, starting to collect Social Security next month, taking a one year gift of severance pay, 6 months of unemployment. Thanks, Chevron. Pardon me for a moment as I open another bottle of 21 year Glenlivet.
