Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett escapes a lot of scrutiny by being privately held, but the writing's on the wall. Here are a few quotes from #6 and #3 (where several of our current leaders spent time developing their management tactics). Does anyone believe results won't be worse when this comes out next? Those of us out in the stores feel like we're hanging on to a piece of wood out on the cold ocean, while the mother ship is starting to go up in flames and sink in the distance. Not a great feeling, but like somebody said on this board earlier there are options for the resourceful. Get after controlling your own destiny my friends-- I know it's scary, but we need to face the reality of the situation this Dream Team has put us in.

  • Dissatisfaction with senior management was a common complaint among employees, with 1 star out of 5 being the most common rating.

  • Of those who disapproved of the company’s management, many complained of a disconnect between upper management and store staff.

  • One reviewer’s opinion was that the company’s approach was outdated and in need of a “global restructure and culture change.”

  • Common complaints store employees made included disorganized management, old equipment, hot or otherwise unpleasant working conditions, and most frequently, low pay.

History does repeat itself. Look at the results of poor leadership. What is funny is that the leaders look elsewhere for the cause of the companies problems. RG can not/will not change this.

The company is going down quicker than the axis powers did in WWII... as I come into work and look at the hallow halls... or should I say floors and desks... I can't help but wonder is this how the Germans, Italians and yhe Japanese felt when the end of the war was nearing???

I also then flashback to happier and more successful times like at River Grove or Oakbrook (good old 1818) and Westmont and wonder "how the heck did we end up here?"
