Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

EDMC will officially close Thursday, June 30th, 2016 - Spread the word to everyone!!!

Firstly, you can choose to believe me or not, as I really do not care either way. As we all are aware, this is a seemingly anonymous website, to some extent, and any information garnered from here must be taken with a grain of salt. You may choose to believe me if you wish. If you do, which you should, good job: make plans to find another position, as soon as possible, which I would hope you are doing anyway. If you do not choose to believe me, then I suggest that you continue rearranging the chairs upon the deck of the H.M.S. Titanic and continue to enjoy living in a fantasy-land of ignorant bliss. I am completely serious regarding the following information and, while I completely understand that I provide absolutely no evidence for my statements, I assure you that you can rely upon them. Of course, it is up to you.

While I am not directly an EDMC employee, nor have I ever been, I held a position that allowed me unique access to all aspects of organizational operations at EDMC. Within the last month, I accepted an offer with an international firm and have left my previous position, so I feel I have nothing to lose. I do not fear discovery, but. in actuality, encourage it and want leadership to strain themselves attempting to find out my true identity. It will not be that difficult. I write this from the comfort of a luxury hotel suite in another country, behind a vast shield coated with extensive layers of legal and financial protections.

In my experience, as one would expect, the higher in the organization that one goes, the more corruption is apparent. Those at the top already have their hands on the rip cords of their golden parachutes and are counting down the days until the entire place implodes. They fear organisations like the DoE and FCC busting down the doors before they have had the opportunity to finish the shredding. Believe it or not, they do fear this website and other mediums of corporate leaks. Continue to leak any information that you can, and if your IP has been blocked, use a proxy server or a different location to post whatever you can. Leadership checks this site probably twice as much as all of you do, so rest assured that it will be seen, in one way or another. That is what makes positing this information so exciting: they know the information that I am about to reveal is correct, and now they know that all of you know, which they fear. You will be able to see it in their eyes and in the eyes of everyone on every campus. When your boss tells you to meet your numbers, it is because their boss is saying the same to them, but the actual important information is that which is not being said at all, and that is the impending doom that is a total organizational closure draws closer with each day. You will find that if you ignore their greedy demands and their empty threats, that they are truly powerless, as the entire place is a sinking ship and they will not terminate you, because they still need you, at least for a few more months. Once you realize this, the tides will turn and you will have the power. Use your work time to apply to other organizations, surf the net, check Facebook, and of course, post all the dirty rumors and confidential information that you can to this site. Speaking of confidential information, I have some for all of you.

How am I privy to this information? An associate within the company sought my advice regarding several issues surround the closure of EDMC, and the date that I am going to provide was included during these discussions. Furthermore, I was able to confirm the accuracy of this information through multiple corporate sources, including KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, for those of you in management who are abbreviation-challenged) and Goldman Sachs. Thus, I am confident that the information that I have ascertained from multiple, reliable sources, is true and can gleefully inform all of you that the final day of EDMC will be:

Thursday, June 30th, 2016.

Yes... Ladies and gentleman, that is the day. Circle it on your calendars.

This is the final day of the fiscal year. One of the reasons for this date is that it will allow organizations to dump this toxic organization and its associated liabilities during this fiscal year. Additionally, there are several important clauses that are triggered July 1, 2016 with organizations such as the Department of Education and a handful of financial firms that EDMC will avoid in order to limit the damage that this will cause to all of the stakeholders involved.

Previous predictions on here regarding a major June event are accurate. Additionally, a recent accusation regarding an extramarital affair with the spouse of a current employee is true as well, as I have been a party in this relationship. It was only after the spouse found out about the current employee's infidelity that we began our relationship. Although I am currently outside of the country, the spouse and I have spoken numerous times recently and have plans to continue our relationship, whenever I return to the area.

There is a lot of truth among the craziness that is this website. Believe what you want to believe. This post will certainly be talk of the town tomorrow. I have multiple copies in case this one is taken down and will distribute them through other modes, if needed.

Spread the word!!!

I am a current employee who recently accepted a position with another organization, so I feel I have nothing to lose.

Mrs. Matt Martin for an extended period of time.

Additionally, a fraternity brother associated with KKR has informed me that EDMC will close its doors on Thursday, June 30th, the final day of the fiscal year.

I am going to post this reply on the main page, as I am sure that some people are interested, as well.

At least this guy is the most well spoken and articulate person on this board, which makes it evident that he does not work for EDMC.

Corinthian colleges had campuses that were supposed to be on teach out before abruptly closing. So did Westwood. If there is no company to go after for not honoring a teach out situation, then teach outs don't really matter, do they? Campuses have been downsizing. Numbers have been increasingly difficult to hit. I have worked for large corporations that have gone under before and the signs are all there for EDMCs imminent closure. The harder they push for numbers, the closer they are to death.

I believe this post for some reason. it read like there is some real insight. The funny part is the guy does not even work there so there is nothing EDMC can do about it. Freedom of speech.

If they are closing the doors they dont need to worry about a teach out, there is no one left to sue.

If you're not working there any longer why hide your position that you held and specifically what info was used. If no name is used they can't do anything. Not to mention if they're closing they won't be coming after you.

Get real. They won't do a teach out. They have lawyers to deal with little inconveniences like that.

Corinthian College didn't do a teach out.

Actually they don't. Westwood sold themselves to National American University and they are doing the teach out. This is the year that all of these schools are going to be liquidated.

Schools have to do a teach out when they close, so closing June would be unlikely.

If this is true I feel sad for my friends who are still working there and for the students. The Art Institutes were once great colleges and I was proud to work there, but what has happened in the past few years has been horrible for all involved. In my heart of hearts I was hoping a non profit entity would take over and restore AI to its former glory but I guess that's not in the cards. I'm sending out good vibes to all. When I worked there I met many great, compassionate and talented people.

Job hunting for awhile now. It's hard with AI on my resume. Appears I am going to have to try harder.

As a reference, the bottom few lines are the original post. I want to clarify that I had intended to state I am not a current employee, but since there is no editing function, I was unable to do so. Let the rumors begin regarding my credibility due to this small mistake, but you can believe the date, I promise you that.
