Thread regarding L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. layoffs

Thank you, MVS, for visiting Madison for the third time. And, thank you for bringing CK and EP. Finally, a leadership team who looks and acts and speaks like a team of Leaders. You are certainly a fine complement to our new local team: EB, DD, BA, and RJ. And, my, what credentials you have. I can Google! My, what broad shoulders you have. (I’ve worked in Men’s furnishings! I’ve known a football player or two!) In fact, if ever under attack, we could all hide behind EP! Now, that’s a pair of…oh well, that’s just a pleasant thought for me.) My, what decency and courtesy you three exhibited; one of the first things said involved recognition of the many military men and women who inhabit our humble building. And, to rub a little more salve in our wounds, the pain and suffering of the past was acknowledged and long time employees were given some teeny little glimmer of hope that the cowardly, dismissive, sneaky, non business understanding leadership of recent days is gone. At long last! Leaders who will look you in the eye, who have a firm (I’ll say) handshake! Oorah! Or, Hooah, if you prefer. While we are all hopeful that things will turn around and move forward with as little pain as possible. Some of us wonder: Are we a building of mostly brown nosing, but highly paid realists or paranoid chronic complainers? Or, perhaps we are more like your humble correspondent: pay me a decent wage, recognize me as a SME in what I do and what I know: reward me when warranted and not because I will kiss you’re highly paid, highly powerful a$$, as I don’t expect you to kiss my cute, perky one. IOW: be fair, be respectful, be HUMAN. It pays dividends, sometimes, to step out of your “Corporate” self. Next trip, try and stay long enough for us to drip some southern honey on you – metaphorically speaking, of course. We know you’re smart; we don’t know if you’re kinky. But, are you??? LOL Seriously, ah have been a havin' a little ole southern bit of fun here...we in Madison may not be rising like a Phoenix rising from the proverbial ashes, but we are certainly no longer in a flat spin and headed “West.” I, and many others, want to express our sincere gratitude for that. We are a diverse, educated, multi-everyting you can think of group of people. Many of us have life experiences that would blow your mind. For instance, we may have sailed with Ted Turner after he won the America's Cup, we may have slept in the house of a man who walked on the moon, Ray Mabus may be a family friend. INW, we may live in Mississippi, but don't discount or denigrate us based on what your predecessors may have imparted to you. In closing, while thrashing about in this love fest, I can’t leave without acknowledging that, while we have a Leadership Team with major, major cred now, there are no women or people of color. That is a point for another day, because while I appreciate a glass ceiling, I really prefer it be mirrored. Teasing, darlings! Most seriously, I am glad you visited. I, and others, are glad that this new Leadership Team is in place. Come back when the Azaleas are in bloom. I will power wash the front walk myself. “From the halls of Montezuma…”
